Did you know that from 31st August 2020 consents for low-risk building works are no longer needed? The exemptions have been introduced to free up the construction sector for higher value work.
The exemptions include:
· Single story detached buildings like sleepouts, sheds and green houses where plumbing work is not required and up to a maximum 30 square metres
· Carports up to 40 square metres· Ground-floor awnings up to 30 square metres
· Ground-floor verandas and porches up to 30 square metres
· Permanent outdoor fireplaces or ovens
· Flexible water storage bladders
· Ground-mounted solar panel arrays
· Small pipe supporting structures
· Short-span (small) bridges
· Single-storey pole sheds and hay barns in rural zones
